3 - D football chess in the 5th dimension.

The biggest issue with the media's coverage of Clemson under Dabo lies in most of them not realizing that he and the program are operating at a level they can't see - a 5th, unseen dimension of sorts. They have indeed missed a beautiful team this year, largely due to not understanding what they're looking at.

For the vast majority, their last image of Clemson was a freshman NFL QB and WR, plus a legit RB, and relentless D absolutely shredding a 'greatest team ever' Alabama. They hadn't paid too much attention to us before then (ROY Bus), but that night, they saw the light, but only because it played out at their level. Expectations set, we're crowned as a solid pre-season #1, and time to strap in and watch us run amok over all the lesser teams than Alabama on our schedule this year on our road to glory.

But what did they find when the season kicked off? Another Dabo first quarter. Methodically going through the progressions and process, accumulating the data, and opening it up from there once you have the right feel for how all the parts are gonna work together against that foe that day. Our seasons operate a lot like that. Burst out of the gate, scripted assessments, let it roll, then finish it. And when it doesn't go well, learn, keep your head up, and move on.

There's more secret sauce at work for sure. The kids they recruit, the program atmosphere, the drive among all of them. It's a pretty special thing and certainly a great time to be a Tiger. Had we had better competition on our schedule this year, we certainly would have had more coverage overall leading up and after. Hopefully that will catch up over the next month.
