PHILADELPHIA, PA--Two Clemson players were drafted in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Super Draft at the Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA Friday afternoon.

Clemson's Nathan Sturgis was a first round draft pick by the Los Angeles Galaxy. He was the 12th player selected. The Tigers' Justin Moore was a second round selection by FC Dallas. He was the third player selected in the second round and the 15th selection overall.

Sturgis (St. Augustine, FL) was named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year. Sturgis started all 24 matches this past season for the Tigers. He finished the year with two goals and seven assists for 11 points.

Moore (Snellville, GA) started 22 matches for the Tigers and had seven assists for the Tigers this past season. He was a four-year starter under Head Coach Trevor Adair.

Under Adair, 21 players have been selected in the MLS draft. Sturgis is the fifth player selected in the first round under Adair.

The Tigers finished the season with a 15-6-3 record overall and advanced to the 2005 NCAA College Cup's Final Four.

"It is great to see the Clemson Soccer Tradition continue by having these two great players drafted in the next level," said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. "We were the first school to have two players drafted today. I am pound of Justin and Nathan and what they mean to our program and university. It will be very difficult to replace them next year."
