Tigers Drop Decision to No. 31 Wake Forest

Clemson, S.C. -- The Clemson women's tennis team (6-8, 0-5 ACC) fell to No. 31 Wake Forest (6-5, 2-2 ACC), 6-1, on Sunday afternoon.

On doubles Court 3, Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Makayla Mills jumped out to a 4-3 lead before the Tigers dropped decisions on Courts 1 and 2 to give the Demon Deacons the first point of the match. In singles, Jenna Thompson earned a first-set victory over Anna Campana, 6-4. Campana forced a third set, however, Thompson held on to win 6-4, 2-6, 10-5. Additionally, Lana Sipek battled back from a first-frame loss to Brooke Killingsworth to take set two, 7-5, but ultimately lost the match 1-6, 7-5, 5-10.

Of Note:

It marks the Tigers' third consecutive loss to Wake Forest
Clemson fall to 32-21 all-time against the Demon Deacons
Jenna Thompson improves to 5-4 at No. 2 and 10-5 overall in singles this season

The Tigers are back in action at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility next weekend when they host No. 1 North Carolina and No. 8 Duke.
