One of the all-time greats. Saw him whip Leonard's a$$ in a great fight, Leonard congratulated him on the win, then judges gave it to Leonard in a fixed split decision. Quit watching boxing about then. Many did. Sport not watched like it was at that time in mid-80's. Hagler, Leonard, Duran and Hit Man Hearns were a special group of middle weights who peaked close to the same time. All great athletes who put on a great show!

I like boxing. Too bad now you have to pay a bundle to see a decent fight.
In the day there was a tall kid from Spartanburg at Clemson who had had a couple pro fights.
My roommate and I would help him train in a store room. The deal was we would try to hit him, and he would not hit us. He would often get antsy and let one go --- so we had swollen ears, etc.

I believe the best Hagler fight (and one of the best all time) was not when he was cheated in the Leonard fight, but the one against Hearns in Boston. I just happened to be in Boston running the Marathon that week. The papers were full of it, even more coverage than the Marathon.
Hagler was a fighter, but could box. He was incredible. Not many like him.
