Three Clemson pros make NFL Top 100 players ranking

CBS Sports released its annual top 100 players for the upcoming NFL season, which features three Clemson pros.

CBS senior NFL writer Pete Prisco's list had plenty of movement for Clemson's two pro Lawrences.

First up is New York Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who vaulted 15 spots to No. 19 overall.

"He is a massive man in the middle of the New York defense who makes it tough to run inside. But he is also a power pass rusher inside who can really push the pocket, which makes him far more than just a one-dimensional run stuffer," Prisco said.

On the flip side, Trevor Lawrence, who Prisco was very high on last year, dropped 39 spots to No. 62.

"His 2023 season was a disappointment for a lot of reasons, including injury. He threw 21 touchdown passes and 14 picks as he pressed at times. I think he bounces back -- with a hefty new contract -- and has an MVP-type of season that will vault him up this list," Prisco said.

Rounding out the Clemson entries is new Las Vegas Raider defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, at No. 78.

"He is a disruptive inside player who signed with the Raiders after five impressive seasons with the Dolphins. He has the ability to pressure inside, while also being good against the run," Prisco said.

Clemson is tied for sixth in the number of football alums in the list, tied with schools such as Georgia, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Oregon.
