Former Clemson defender Andrew Booth Jr. traded to Cowboys |
A former Clemson defender is set to get a fresh start.
Former Minnesota Vikings 2022 second-round draft pick and standout Tigers cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for Dallas corner Nahshon Wright on Friday. Booth appeared in 23 games and made two starts for Minnesota, totaling 19 tackles on defense and one on special teams. He added one pass defensed in 2023. He was recently listed third on the Vikings depth chart at a cornerback position. Wright has appeared in 32 games and made three starts for Dallas, totaling 31 tackles on defense and six on special teams. He added five passes defensed, a tackle for loss and an interception. Clemson bio for Booth: Highlight-reel athletic corner who departed for the NFL Draft after his junior season after recording 75 tackles (5.5 for loss), 10 pass breakups, five interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery (which he returned 21 yards for a touchdown) in 981 defensive snaps over 35 career games (15 starts) from 2019-21. The Cowboys also recently signed former Tigers defensive lineman Albert Huggins.
