Usually your district is the first one and all the others follow suit.

facebook groups, aka "Karens of Lexington".
No mention of any virtual school. I asked SarahAdidas, the Alpha Karen of Lexington, and she said, "I haven't heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me."
She works from home now anyways, it doesn't really matter to me anymore.
Sorry, no rants from me this time.

I saw a picture of a rat snake in a tupperware container, asking for help identifying it.
Somebody looking to match up a curtain fabric swatch that has little blue birds on it and is ugly AF.
Somebody looking to rent ponies for a birthday party. Does not rule out the chance of beastiallity.
A woman looking for a man (says she wants an electrician to fix a kitchen light).
A guy who will come and pick up your junk. (I wonder if he can fix a light bulb).
A woman who does nose rings and/or eyelash extensions.
A guy who is a dead-ringer for MauldinT who sprays your yard for bugs. No doubt all the chemicals have given him that big dumb MauldinT smile that we all love.
A reminder that fishing is OFF LIMITS in Gibson Pond Park.

business model for somebody who lives in the vicinity of USC. I assume there's a 'party island' on Lake Murray? Could probably make out like a bandit on 4th of July weekends. Partner with a guy who does 'freelance' tattoos and she could become Kat Von D of the midlands.

Not even because I hate them, but because of safety. I think pretty much everyone gets mugged/robbed at least once while attending.

relationship. She can bunk with my daughter and as long as she pays for her own food and does typical housework, she can stay indoors.
Just warn her that we have a strict "no sass-talk" policy and she will have to be follow the family dress code.
Lights out at 8pm, and mandatory church every Sunday morning.

days Virtual Days instead of cancellations/closure. Anything education can do to suck the joy and life out of a kid, they will examine.
I mean, I can see on one hand, be nice to know when your year is going to end instead it going a week or so past because of heavier than avg snowfall. But ####, not letting kids go freeze their ### off and enjoy a day playing in the snow is hardcore. Do they REALLY think anyone is going to learn anything while remembering last year, they got the day off? The uptick in serial killer/anarchists is going to uptick from this decision if it passes.

the sake of the children. I mean, it's not like we couldn't destroy them in a war if it came down to it. We have superior firepower and a much better-trained military than the children do...but we just seem scared to use it to impose our will on them.

Dear Lexington District One Families:
We want you to know that we are closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. We remain in contact with the National Weather Service and Lexington County Emergency Management regarding any potential impacts the hurricane could have on the Midlands later this week.
It is too early today (Sept. 27) to make a decision about the need to dismiss school early on Friday or possibly shift to e-learning on Friday – the day when the forecast calls for the greatest risk for high winds and severe weather. That decision will likely come Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
We want to give families enough time to prepare, but we also don’t want to make a premature decision because we know closing schools and/or shifting instructional models impacts families.
For now, we encourage you to prepare your plan for what happens if school must dismiss early, close Friday and/or we have an e-learning day.
Again, this decision has not been made yet, but we want to give families a heads up so you can prepare just in case.
As a reminder, e-learning allows us to continue instruction without forcing us to use a weather make-up day. Most schools held practice e-learning days earlier this school year to give students and teachers/staff the opportunity to practice how e-learning will work. This practice day should help us deliver smooth, high-quality virtual instruction if needed temporarily at any point throughout the year.

Dear Lexington District One Families Whiny Troublemakers:
We want you to know that we are closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. We remain in contact with the National Weather Service and Lexington County Emergency Management regarding any potential impacts the hurricane could have on the Midlands later this week. We've been paying attention to social media and weighing our liability from having school vs public outrage from cancelling school.
It is too early today (Sept. 27) to make a decision about the need to dismiss school early on Friday or possibly shift to e-learning on Friday – the day when the forecast calls for the greatest risk for high winds and severe weather. That decision will likely come Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. We're going to kick this can down the road until it's too late for you to make plans. It shouldn't be a problem, though, because you know damnn goodnwell that we're going to cancel it. The longer we wait, the lest we have to listen to you complain about it... like ripping off a bandaid.
We want to give families enough time to prepare, but we also don’t want to make a premature decision because we know closing schools and/or shifting instructional models impacts families. Please understand that we don't give a crap about you, your kids, your jobs, really anything at all. GFY
For now, we encourage you to prepare your plan for what happens if school must dismiss early, close Friday and/or we have an e-learning day. You should CYA, that's what we're doing...
Again, this decision has not been made yet, but we want to give families a heads up so you can prepare just in case. Can't you idiots read?
As a reminder, e-learning allows us to continue instruction without forcing us to use a weather make-up day. Most schools held practice e-learning days earlier this school year to give students and teachers/staff the opportunity to practice how e-learning will work. This practice day should help us deliver smooth, high-quality virtual instruction if needed temporarily at any point throughout the year. Remember that other BS day we had earlier in the year where we practiced not learning, well good thing we did, because now we're going to do the real thing... really not learning.

Friday will definitely be a virtual day.
The question now is what to do about Thursday. Some are saying no afterschool activities. Some are saying half day. We will see. Should know by lunchtime.

Got to give people time to prepare on Thursday for what's coming Friday. I don't think we will get terrible wind but definitely get a ton of rain.
Good part of that is a lot of the rivers and swamps are really low so flooding inland shouldn't be too bad. Knock on wood

Every time a hurricane comes thru PI it costs me a couple of thousand. Last time a golf course tree fell on my property. Not my tree, but my problem.
