WR recruiting

We have 3 offers out to uncommitted prospects and all of them have crystal ball predictions to other teams
Nathaniel Joseph to Miami Tyler Williams to Georgia Christian Hamilton to UNC
Does anybody know who could receive the next offer? We are losing two scholarship WRs: Ngata and Swinney. And with the portal, who knows if someone else transfers. We need to sign at least 2 this class.

Swinney is an add on cause of leftover scholarships. however, EJ could have a good year and leave. Then as someone pointed out the other day ,because of medical ,Ngata could return if his year doesn't go as hoped.
Still 2 would be nice

Ngata has another year if he wants it - if he gets a medical for

A year that wasn’t Covid year then he could have 2 on top of this year. It’s a matter of how he plays and what he wants his future to be. Swinnet is really taking the holder scholarship , he just happens to be a receiver

year is really that helpful. He is not going to suddenly morph into a real star WR1 after all this time, and all the injuries he has suffered. And, with him, the injury bug seems to always rear its ugly head again. Not a knock, it just seems he has incredibly bad luck in that department, and because of it, he can't ever gain any continuity. And then, Covid is part of his history going forward as well.

All I’m going to say is Ngata had 6 receptions for 110 yards against UGA. That guy is incredibly talented but he’s has either struggled with Injuries or had a terrible offense around him. If we can get back to the old Clemson again & he can stay healthy, Ngata is going to be an absolute stud

If only he can stay healthy. If he does, I expect an "NFL draft" type year for him. Regardless, based on his potential I'd rather have him than not.

It would be great to see on the field for multiple games what Swinney has seen on the practice field ...

a UDFA whenever he leaves Clemson. He would have to have the most injury free, monster season in Clemson history to overcome all that previous history, and make an NFL franchise chance a precious draft pick on him.

The problem we have...

is we no longer have a Sammy, Nuk, Williams, or Ross type receiver. That's not to say that our guys aren't good but we are missing that legitimate game changing type receiver.

Did he? You just can’t help yourself even when our incoming class is ranked 3rd in the country. Of the players listed three are all pro NFL wide receivers. The other hasn’t started his NFL career. How many future all pros do you think there are in any given class? They only take 3 a year and that’s amongst all active players. Sort of a ridiculous, impossible standard to set for recruiting and one that can only be determine with roughly a decade of hindsight.

I've said before and continue to hope Dabo will get involved with that aspect of our offense , from coaching these guys up to hitting the trail himself. That's how the guy made a name for himself. I'm sure he has his eyes all over Grisham if he's not meeting expectations. He's a salesman first and foremost lest we forget. When he gets in there it's hard for recruits to turn him down. It's often been said he's the best closer in the business. As a last resort he may even poach a guy or two from other teams or resort to the portal to fill our needs. I don't think our needs will not be met.Dabo will get it done. And who knows , this class is probably in the ear of a few guys they want to bring with them. We have already seen the fruits of their labor in this regard. There has been a flurry of activity that may give a false sense that we are failing here where it appears we are flourishing at other positions. Let's just give it some time and see how it shakes out.

There's a few top ones out there that we didn't offer for whatever reason. Sorey, McClure, Redmond, hale, Manning.
Kinda liked McClure from mater dei but obviously none of these have interest or vice versa, or not the character we look for.
Joseph was going to be good but not your tee, Mike Williams mold.

I'm sure they used our QB's performance against us, wouldn't you ? We need to instill in these guys that the future is very bright at the QB position.

Wondering if Olsen Patt Henery could be used as a WR? Plays the position in HS plus plays basketball. Currently listed at 215 with speed which is about 20 lbs lighter than Mike “coot killer” Williams

Why would DJ's play effect WR's with Cade already here and Vizzina coming in with this class of WR ?

scholarship. As it is now, we have five top-20 WRs from their classes and another top-50. When you look at all the gazillions of WRs in the nation every year, that's pretty darn good. I have no idea who the scholarship will go to though. It should be noted that Joseph only opened up his recruiting because he didn't want to follow the no visit policy. While money appears to be the lure for him, I don't believe he's formally committed to Miami. I suppose there's a chance we could flip him back, albeit a likely small one.

At this point, even if he wanted to re-comit to Clemson, I don't think Dabo would allow it. Before Dabo accepts a committal, Dabo goes out of his way to ensure the recruit has thought it through & fully believes Clemson is the place for him. Dabo wants to ensure that the player is "All In", and that is why he doesn't allow any visits to other college programs after the recruit commits. Dabo expects a full committal from the recruit when he commits. Dabo would still be recruiting Joseph if he was still trying to decide and was still looking at other programs. Dabo is fine with that. However, when a recruit says he's decided to commit to Clemson, Dabo expects a full committal--no ifs, ands, or buts!!! Dabo closes down recruiting for that position after a recruit says he's committed!!!
When Dabo gives his word to a recruit, he expects the Recruit to reciprocate. This has been Dabo's policy for several years. It shouldn't be a surprise to any Clemson fan, or to any recruit that has committed to Clemson! Case is closed as far as I can see.

Clemson is still recruiting Ronan Hanafin, as well as Tyler Williams and Christian Hamilton--no matter what Crystal Balls, leans, or rumors say. And I'm sure Clemson is recruiting other WRs as well, just in case recruiting on these primary recruiting targets falls.through. At least, that's what Clemson has done in the past, and I don't expect it to change just because we (outside the program) don't know the specifics.
