Wouldn’t 36-19 or 35-20 get Clemson in regional?

May 7, 2022, 9:24 AM

With 35-36 wins it’s hard for me to imagine Clemson misses a regional. Regardless of ACC championship 35-36 wins should get Clemson in regional. Clemson got series wins over wake forest,Florida state,Georgia, and the coots. And will likely have series win over Georgia Tech. Those are all ranked teams how can a resume like that keep Clemson out of a regional? I think Clemson will be in a regional and possibly win it.

If they win 7 of 10 that’s a strong finish, but probably an under 500 regular season conference record. That means they are probably competing for the last ACC team to get an invite. I would say they need to add winning their pod in the ACC tournament to get above another ACC team.

No, we aren’t even in position to qualify for the ACC tournament right now.

Answer a question with a question. In what world do you think the NCAA would select a team that does not make their conference tournament? Our fortunes rest on us and on Carolina and Duke losing.

Alabama 2017 football national champs

They didn’t play in their conference championship.

2 teams make the football conference championship.

How many make the baseball conference tournament?

Your comparison is trash.

Read the question, dear.

I answered their question. Go to bed little man.

No, you didn’t. The question is about baseball and a tournament. You answered with football and a game.

Let’s be objective about Duke and UNC. Blue Devils finish with VT and NCSt. The Tarholes have NCSt, Wake, and FSU. IF the Tigers win 6 more conference games they likely finish ahead of atleast one of those teams.

Now as to the NCAAT, Clemson has an RPI of 28. They finish at 36 wins that will likely move up slightly due to wins against GT and Virginia. A couple wins in pod play would certainly help their cause. Lose in pod play probably they are done.

All of above is objective. However, it requires Clemson to actually finish up winning 7 of 10. Can they do that with the pitching we’ve seen the past couple weeks? No. Will the pitching recover for a strong finish? I don’t know.

Oh I certainly hope we finish strong but we almost have to sweep GT and UVA to have a chance the last weekend vs BC . We can lose maybe one before but for sure got to sweep one of the two.
There are 8 teams ranked in the top 25 from the ACC and that’s about all is going to the tournament.
No ACC tournament and the season is over .
