Worlds Are Colliding In The Football Playoffs ---

College Football's Natty game and the future of it possibly could run too close schedule-wise..... with the NFL Playoffs. Could be a possibility someday that the playoffs in college football could be expanded. That would mean the entire month of January would be nothing but playoffs and championships.

The NFL clearly has the weekends locked up as far as viewership when it comes to the playoffs in January. Thus the reason why college football's championship game is on a Monday Night.

Would viewership be better if the college football National Championship game was played on a Friday in January...... opposed to on the Monday like we have now????

You don't have high school football on Fridays in January...... plus I think it would be a nice lead-in game before a NFL playoff game that would play the next day on Saturday.

The CFP will expand until the PO games start the first couple/three rounds in the regular season. The media won't tolerate leaving money on the table because of an overlap between the two. Neither league wants that.

College AD's and other administrators will soon see the way to squeeze the most juice from the lemon is for conference to break their division in groups with 4 teams and start the playoffs when those 'pod,' winners emerge.

The last couple rounds will be post season when the bowl games can choose between those excluded from the final couple/three rounds.

The benefit to the NCAA, NFL and media can thereby be maximized and the harm to education can be avoided by not having games after school sessions begin.

It won't matter how many conference there are or how many teams there are in a conference.

We'll end up with the same percentage of post season blowouts as we have now so it's a break even system.

TU for the Field of Dreams reference. Loved that movie. James Earl Jones, Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, etc were great; Burt Lancaster's last film.

Now, that's funny.

When was the last time the NCAA made a decision that lessened the harm to education?

And, I'm not limiting it to football. Pick any sport and show me where the NCAA has shown anything other than indifference or even disdain for education.

The NCAA does not need to increase teams in the Playoffs.
