understand Thornton wanting to transfer. Before this season, he didn’t see much competition on the roster and expected to start soon.

Agreed. Thornton was a Tiger through and through but I don't blame a young man for wanting to move on if someone 2 years (or more) younger comes in and establishes himself as the starter. I wish Ray much success in the future.
