time to break the current conferences up into 5 geographically logical ones...
Conference A) This conference would cover the eastern seaboard.
Conference B) This conference would cover the southeast.
Conference C) This conference would cover the northeast and parts of the midwest.
Conference D) This conference would cover the middle of the country.
Conference E) This conference would cover the west coast.
Each conference could chose up to 12 teams from their region, and each conference could divide into divisions of 6 and have a championship game to determine its champion at the end of the season.
We can come up with names for these conferences later.

If this aligns us more with our natural rivals like Maryland, Furman, The Citadel, Washington and Lee, and VPI I could see this working

This would only work if we did away with the playoffs and started arbitrarily picking two undeafeated teams every year to play for a championship even though a 1 loss school may be better. They should have won all their games
