Winning out

Clemson has three games left with two ranked opponents. Miami has two games left against two unranked opponents only one of them has a winning record. SMU has 3 games left all three teams are at 5-4 on the year. The best in ACC play is 50:50.
We have to win out. Miami has to lose one of the two. SMU has to lose two. The tie breaker is Louisville that was our must win game and I won't belabour the point.
We have our work cut out for us which is what it is. We have to win out...it's that simple. The rest in in the hands of the little g gods. So we also need Miami to lose both gamesdue to Louisville and or an SMU implosion...which of those is likely to work out? Odds of that happening?

I think it’s improbable that SMU loses two but probable that Miami drops a game. Tigers need to beat Pitt this weekend.
Our odds of making the ACCG are slim but not none.
Our odds of making the playoff without winning the ACCG are virtually 0.
Unsure of where that would put us in the bowling realm bc it’s a crazy year.

Syracuse has had moment when they looked pretty stout...I would pick that game as the best chance for a spoiler win against Miami.

Tigers Win Out And I Put Chances of Playoffs Around 50-50

Either Miami losing or Clemson making playoffs as 11-12 seed as 2 of last 3 will be ranked or near ranked wins. A number of teams ahead of us are guaranteed losses so it is possible.
BUT we do not control our own destiny.

may still get us in ...
There won't be a lot of 2 loss teams still standing at seasons end.

There could be as many as six 10-2 teams from the SEC alone***

I think SMU will start to feel the pressure and drop one of their last 3 games. I could see them lose to BC this week, but idk that they'll lose two. This kind of thing seems to happen every year to overachieving teams.

It would have been much better if we did not get beat the way we did to give us not only 2 losses, but 2 whippings. Not a good look for the committee if we don’t make the ACCCG.

Only thing we can hope for this point is we beat Pitt and Miami loses to Syracuse. Barring that, we’re not going to the playoff. If those two results happen, will get a shot at SMU in the title game. I like our chances there. The chance of us beating pit and Miami losing to Syracuse is about 18%.

If SMU were to lose to Virginia (just that 1 game) would that not put us in? We'd have the same ACC record. They beat Louisville but we beat Virginia. So those records would be the same. Then it would go to the records of our conference opponents and I thought we lead in that?
