If she's a hollerer, she'll be a screamer.
If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.

The frau and I just got over the latest COVID strain and it

is a wimp. I've suffered worse health conditions from seasonal allergies than this latest COVID strain. The latest COVID gave us a low grade fever for a little over a day with a couple days of light chest congestion. By day 5 of our quarantine we had no symptoms and no lingering effects. Tylenol and NyQuil took care of the symptoms rather quickly.

By way of comparison, my wife and I had the original COVID strain back in February 2020. That one put us on our backs with 7 days of constant fever bouncing between 100 to 103 with aches, pains all over and really bad chest congestion/cough. That COVID strain took well over 2 weeks to get through with a constant "tired" for the next month.

I'm done worrying about COVID to include getting anymore of those COVID shots (doesn't seem to prevent getting it anyway). COVID is just something we all will have to live with and by all indications from my most recent instance of COVID - very manageable even if I get it.

No. It's influenza 2.0. Be around forever.

It's not a pandemic btw. It will end when influenza ends. Influenza had to begin at some point. Thousands of years ago probably. I expect it went a similar way.

We've been lied to for a long time. With MHC1 blocking, we literally lack the biology to stop transmission. No vaccine or natural immunity can stop transmission.

It will be a perpetual string of variants. Some cause cases to rise slowly, some explode. Those explosive variants... Those are the pandemics. Just as a flu pandemic is just a novel STRAIN of influenza. Influenza itself, the other variants floating about, are not pandemics. Just new ones we've never seen or built immunity to are.

We have thrown in the towel with Omicron. And people need to expect constant variants. Most are perpetuating variants. They will increase cases and infections. But then there are novel variants. Omicron was novel. Delta was somewhat too. Delta was perpetuating itself well going into winter until Omicron crossed the planet in 3 months. Delta cases were climbing and almost back to peak levels. Omicron is doing the same.

And there will be other nasty variants. And we need to ignore the people who freak out because something is say 30% more transmissible than the prior variant. That's relative. You don't stack those percentages. And don't forget immunity wanes as well. So that 30% does not get added to some grand tally but it just means that right now, in that area, it's growing.

MHC1 dyaregulation was studied, documented, confirmed, peer reviewed, and then buried. Long SARS was studied. Documented. Confirmed. Peer reviewed. And then was buried. Yes, there was long SARS in 2003 before there was long covid.

Anyway it is what it is.

Article is correct. The biggest long term impact of covid isn't the deaths. It's long covid.
