Why isn’t Cagle starting Game 1?

Not complaining. Rittman certainly knows what he is doing.

Understood it for regional as we had Cagle 100% fresh for Auburn in game 2. But in a super, I was expecting Cagle games 1 and 3 and Thompson for game 2.

Thompson is fantastic too and dominating, so maybe that’s it.

First, I'm really thankful we have both Cagle & Thompson to choose from for game one of the Super Regional. While I don't think there is anyone as dominant as both a pitcher and a hitter than Cagle, I believe that right now that Thompson has been more dominant this season on the mound for Clemson. She has maintained a lower ERA most of the season, and she has been able to avoid getting into as many jams with base runners over the last half of the season.
