that you can’t play, most importantly, not to lose; or ever play not to score.
that you can’t play conservative after a recovered onside kick, when you need to get up by two scores to win.
that you can’t play a rival or a good team without a few new wrinkles designed to exploit your opponent's weaknesses.
that you can’t beat a better team without misdirection or confusion (straight handoffs rarely work).
that you can’t win when your punter cannot flip the field or kicks it 30 yards in crucial situations.
that you can’t win playing an injured RB, who is playing slow, against quick DEs and linemen(at least put a faster back in at the same time.
that you can’t keep doing the same thing every game, running the same play(s) that have not worked all year and expect a different result.
that you can’t throw the ball in the middle of the field, short of a first down, with time running out and you need a TD to win.
that you can’t win if you are unwilling to do whatever it takes on defense to not allow one player to beat you.
and lastly…..that you can’t ever accept losing as part of football, otherwise you become very soft and more likely will accept all of the above.

we peak too too early

Maybe their defensive players are faster than ours and they might have been able to touch Sellers instead of making him look the second coming of Fran Tarkenton.

And unfortunately he never will...the game has past him by and Clemson university is paying through the butt at $11 mil plus a year for his failures.
