What year do you think Dabo goes to the NFL?

Guessing 2024 _ maybe to the Falcons?
If the differentiation between NCAA and NFL is diminished AND NCAA FB competitive balance destroyed, then why not coach at the NFL level? Sure it’s speculation at this point, but changes to NCAA Sports could decrease their appeal in many ways.

I dont think that ever happens UNLESS the management structure at Clemson changes to where he is at odds with the administration and a NFL owner gets in touch with him and lays it out in a way that appeals to him.

Success of, and the value of, better football was alien to Clemson elites then. The academic types saw Ford's success as a threat. They held the power.

Yeah I don't see it happening. Unless I read him wrong Dabo takes great pride in building men. Much less opportunity and control over that in the pros. He could make a pure money decision, but he's already turned those down I'm sure. I just think he likes to be there in the formative years with his players.

So I guess you all think Dabo is this weak man that doesn't want to coach unless he has complete power over players in the form of restricting compensation? Why would he go the the NFL where he would have even less power.
Dabo better learn to adapt because change is coming and he'll either accept it or retire.

I don't know the answer, but I do feel that when college players start getting a salary as if they were employed by Clemson athletic/FB program, Dabo will leave college FB coaching. He has stated many times that his love of college sports was bc the athletes we armatures, playing armatures at the college level.
The Blame for all of what is happening now is directly on the NCAA by punishing players and the college programs for things like buying a player, or his family a meal. If they would have set a limit of what a program could do for their athletes to like $5K a season limit, just maybe the courts would've never been brought into college sports....

You would think a guy like Dabo would be a lifetime college coach. He’s on top of the world so why leave? But the college game is changing and in my opinion not for the better. So who knows.

It's more likely Dabo goes into the ministry than the NFL.
However, neither will happen.
Dabo will coach 5 or 10 more years at Clemson and then move on to another chapter in his life.

I think his youngest will be a HS senior this year, so 2027 would be the earliest.
