What a start to the weekend!

My buddies and I left the Raleigh area this morning around 8am with the wind howling not knowing how the drive down would be with a 36' camper in the wind. It got hairy a few times and it was a slow drive down but we made it.

We ran over to Walker course to try and squeeze in 9 holes at 4pm. The football team must've been doing some sort of event nearby as we could hear the band on quite a few holes and the team buses drove right past us hole #5 (?) I waved to them as the police escort drove them by.

We finished those 9 holes in 1hr 45mins, with no rain so we decided to see if we could finish out. They said sure and we raced through the back 9 experiencing incredible sky lines, and a rainbow as we witnessed a young couple get engaged on #17 green. We finished #18 in barely enough light to see after the 20min delay on #17. Then as soon as we left the rain rolled in.

What a beautiful course, I'm so glad I finally got a chance to play it and experience such a great time.

Did the football team have a walk through or something around that time too? I couldn't figure out why all the team buses were driving by with a police escort

They were heading to the hotel in Anderson. Home game routine to keep the team together and away from distractions.

I did see the team buses head out with a police escort on Perimeter Road right past the band practice field. They spend the night off campus in Anderson.
