It is much better from a mental health standpoint to stay away from the boards for a couple of days after a loss in basketball or football. Why would anyone want to be a part of the bad takes, emo outbursts or the agenda driven narratives? Easier to give some space then rejoin once the board has returned to some level of normalcy.
Reminds me of something I heard years ago. There is no way to wrestle a pig without both of you being covered in mud.
