I think This has thrown off the timing of the 110% , the Orange Bowl and Tiger Rag…. Then we had 2 people run down after the cannon and a delay. It’s never been a problem until we started with the gimmicks . While I’m whining. How about the coot sounding 3rd down mess. Just my opinion but I think it has lost something in the last few years. The timing has seemed off…or maybe it’s me. any opinions? Go.

The reason those 2 guys ran down the hill 1st was to honor Overton, that was a special occurrence. I agree with you on the 3rd down thing though, that was generic and cringe AF. As for We Will Rock You, personally I despise Queen, but they’ve been playing that one before they run down the hill for what seems like many years now, so if that gets people energized and is seen as a tradition by now then I don’t have an issue with it.

I think they only started that Queen song before they run down the hill when the new scoreboard was erected and never have they put it in the middle of Orange Bowl March and Tiger Rag that just threw everything off.
The order last year was the video , We will Rock you then the band plays Orange Bowl March and forms the tunnel and the team runs down the hill as the band transitions to Tiger Rag. Just like the band has done for decades. Who in the heck is running the pregame program?

I believe that the Orange Bowl march combined with Tiger Rag is referred to as Sock It To Em.

grrowl I stand corrected. I thought I remembered that song being played as the busses drove 'round going back through the 2010's, but I went back and watched a few of the old intros from that era and you are correct, the song was not being played. I do remember that song being played frequently at various Clemson sporting events going back as far as I can remember, but evidently NOT directly prior to the hill entrance at football. (Except for the last 2 or 3 years of course, as you pointed out.) Having made that discovery, personally, I could do without that song entirely, but I agree with you that at the very least it would be best to just leave it to the band during the buildup to running down the hill. And as some others have said, I actually kinda miss that old recorded tiger roar too, as crappy as it may have sounded.

Yeah, "We will rock you" these past few years was filling the gap while the buses rolled around the stadium and it would finish as they pulled up and started departing, then back to our classic Orange Bowl March as everyone gathered at the top around the rock and the band lined up ahead of the cannon. I enjoyed that set-up as it was fairly tight and scripted, and it flowed well. I also liked that our opponent would be hearing the chanting, clapping, and stomping as they made their way from the locker room to the tunnel.

I agree about we will rock you. The problem is it's just not really a good entrance song. It's good for playing during the game, but it's not a good entrance song.
I agree with some other people who have said that they're basically trying to do it to recapture the Florida State game from 2009, but that's just sort of lightning in a bottle and you're not going to be able to recreate that every time.

"Whining" is just a lame attempt at pejorative nonsense people will throw at you for stating the obvious truth.
You nailed it when you said "it's never been a problem until we started with the gimmicks.
Go back and watch the entrances from prior years. Games from the 80's, 90's and even the early 2000's. All the produced flashiness is replacing heart and blood with generic modernized pop culture trash.
Some will lamely carp about "get off my lawn" syndrome. But ya know what, sometimes the lawn is beautiful, and the people on it suck.
