the Tigers do their part tomorrow to help the perception of the conference, OR will we only perpetuate the narrative?

No, won't change. The last 2 decades there's been 2 narratives. Clemson and fla st. It hurt the acc that a respected fla st team (always perceived as a sec caliber national team) came in and dominated the acc set the narrative. Dabo changed that narrative to the Roy Bus Clemson and the rest of the acc.

Yeah, everyone wants to include Miami but year after year, Miami disappointed.

So no, imo the acc will be looked at as a weak conference either way. Looking like b12 is heading that way too. Until teams not named Clemson or FSU win and dominate the sec for several years, the narrative won't change.

And SMU coming in and being the first team to clinch a spot in the championship game in their first season in the ACC doesn’t help the perception of the league either.

Missouri came in won the east division and made the SEC championship game in their first two seasons.
Didn't hurt the SEC.

Not the ACC's first rodeo. Both FSU and VT came into the ACC and won the conference in their first season.

Did those same fans have a problem with the ACC when nobody couldn't beat FSU for 20 years it seemed like. I don't remember pulling for FSU back then were you? I'm saying this because only losing teams pull for a conference.
