Lots of coaches could win with corbin's team. Yeah, he had ties to Clemson at one time but I'm not so sure about his coaching abilities. He, but mostly his staff are excellent recruiters.
Yeah, he's got money to give kids a free ride so that opens a whole new recruiting trail. I said it the other night, vandy team makeup is different than any team in the country. It looks like a MLB team. They average 5-7 top 100 kids a recruiting cycle and 4-5 actually end up there each cycle. 2 years and you have a team and pitching staff of all top 100 draft prospects.
Even with all that, you can't go 2-16 with risp and beat many teams. Eventually that comes back, just like uva game last night.
So, imo, sully is the better coach. He's done it at Florida with all the handcuffs that Monte has.

That's more like it. Same as UVA last night. Both had tons of scoring opportunities and couldn't do anything with it... Both had bullpens that gave the game away.
Although, last night, I wouldn't have pulled the starter even though he did give up one mistake for his First hit. His count was only 90 pitches. I'd have at least let him get out the inning.

Did you notice the batter throwing the bat across the plate before the runner scored. That was not a very smart move.

I know that pitcher from Stanford is beating himself up. Had Vaz in a 1-2 count. Threw 3 straight balls trying to get cute. Vaz isn't a long ball hitter, he was 0 for 2 on the night with a sac bunt. But instead of going right at him, he tried to pitch around him. Even if vaz found power and homered, the game is only tied. He should have put it right down the middle and hope the defense has you or he K's out.
