This has to be a joke.......please tell me. Apparently US News Ranked cootU as the number one or top first year experience out of ALL public universities in the nation....and international business school #1 for 23rd straight year? Someone tell me I'm dreaming...

Drunk Area like Five Points for their students to frequent. It is an unfair "Hidden in Plain Sight" advantage to first year Coot students looking to jump start their alcoholic futures.

Dumpster Sex is a required course for all freshmen. Who wouldn't want that?

Thanks to Darla Moore, the Business School is the real deal. The 1st year experience is something that 50 schools could probably claim.

The MIB’s program was #1 long before Darlas name was on the biz

the Business School. It’s a small program with mostly international students and there aren’t many MIB programs in the country. It’s a really good program but UofSC uses it as snake oil to promote their biz school to prospective hs students. Their regular biz school is your average big state school biz school. They do have an undergraduate international biz program which I think is pretty good also, but it’s one of those deals where it’s hard to get into and you’re really not accepted into it until after FR year.

I concur with the previous poster's comment about 5 points and I will add that there is no shortage of other places to frequent as an 18 year-old where you can get an over-flowing of adult beverages. But what the article does not account for is the deep academic hole that those same 18 year-olds dig for themselves as a result of their new-found freedom which is abused from the first day on campus through the entire first semester because the fall is just one big cocktail party until the thanksgiving break... And these are facts and not just justifiable insults...

I agree, but also isn't the fall semester at most any big state university that has college football one big cocktail party? Hell I almost failed out my freshman first semester at Clemson, it was a reality check but I was able to get back on track.

How about fourth year experience/graduation?
This is the coots at the beginning of EVERY year. Unbridled optimism and alcohol. I best most of their freshman got to send a lot of those "I told you so" to a lot of judges/parole officers emails upon acceptance.... and that is why they have a good first 9 months.... only to be found sulking later.
"UofSC Columbia campus’ overall rank in the U.S. News & World Report’s guide is 117"
I had a cousin in the International Business program. Immediately moved to New York. Then London. Now lives in Maine. Never going back to Cootlumbia, South Carolina, and dang near chased her out of the county permanently. But I guess that is the sales pitch you give for that program. You never have to go back....

I mean if you’re attending South Carolina you’re probably surprised to be in college at all.
