I have picked up on a big change from last season to this in terms of defensive effort in the middle infield and I’m going to especially pick on Collins. She does well at the plate for sure and she has improved but in years past our SS’s had better range and just as important MUCH better effort. Hit the dirt like we used to and stop waving at balls getting by you. Keeping the ball in the infield keeps that runner on first even if you can’t make the play. Just an observation and I realize you’re very young and will improve!! I’m so glad you are a Clemson Tiger!!

I’m not going to criticize the freshman for the effort. She a much more natural SS than Logoleo playing the position. She will get better. Now Brown on the other hand rarely gets to a ball more than a foot or two to her left. I think it’s mostly about reaction time, but you also don’t see her diving for the ball like we see from Maddie Moore.
