True. I have been there for games several times. Now that Maryland is no longer in the ACC, it provides the worst experience for visiting fans.

I was at last year's game. Never again. One fight in the tunnel by my seats, another in the parking lot after the game. They are pure trash. I hope we curb stomp them Saturday.

Come on guys...there are bad apples everywhere. The ones that sit and post on the internet are just looking for attention. There are plenty of good fans.
I will say that as a NC State grad, there is a lot of pent up frustration in our sports program with our fans, and that has a lot to do with how a lot of the fanbase comes off...It is similar to USuCk in that regard. When that happens, fans look for reasons to be angry with refs, other fans, etc, and completely lose perspective.
I am looking forward to a great game, spending time with family and friends, and being back in Clemson for the first time a long time!

There are decent people in every fan base. We are relating our own experiences and what we still see and hear from MANY NC State fans and coaches.

At most places, the dirtbags are the exception.
At Nc state, the dirtbags are the rule.
Me and thousands of others with 40+ years of experiences can’t be that wrong.
There’s a reason why we talk about Nc state this way all the time, and very rarely about most other opponents.
And no, it’s not because we are so jealous of their team’s success. LOL

You finally beat Clemson at its worst moment in a decade and you still didn’t win the ACC. You should have a solid season this year, but it’s over after the QB is gone. You don’t recruit well enough to be established. Clemson is completely embarrassed that they lost to your program last year and had to see your mush mouth coach sucking on a cigar like he won the lottery. Dabo will use all this as motivation. I feel bad for your fans because they will be miserable after the game is over. Your coach and program SCREAM white trash, redneck county fair BS. You should be shamed to come here and talk trash to your betters. See you Saturday

I graduated from both universities… my mother was a professor at NCSU, I grew up a State fan. Clemson is my bachelors degree so they are my first (and only) love at this point. I’ve been to several Clemson-NCSU games up in Raleigh. I’m here to tell you that in the aggregate, State fans have a complex…which translates into other problems.

I have only felt uncomfortable/concerned about safety twice. Once after we lost at Maryland (2009, I think) and at NC State when we won (2019? The towel game). There are certainly good and bad fans everywhere and we’ve been subjected to rude behavior at other places, but those two times were a little scarey.

Let me add that the very worst experience we have had was in Columbia after we LOST. Verbal abuse and intentionally bumping us as we headed to the car. Not an ACC school, thank goodness. I haven’t been back.

I have been to many NC State games while growing up in Eastern NC. Most of the time, as a Neutral Fan sitting with season ticket holders or free tickets given to me. Most of the time, the fans are decent, but when I wear my orange it is a different story. The language and dismissiveness of Clemson as a program (until recently). Their program is heading in the right direction, which only helps our program when we beat them. As UNC continues to trend down, NCSU will be our competitor for the best recruits in the state of North Carolina.

After they won the game last year I was at the club having dinner one evening and the only state fan I knew came in and started diarrhea of the mouth about how great they are. A waitress asked him politely to stop running his mouth because he was trying to make a scene. Finally the GM came out and asked him to control himself but kept getting worse. He was asked to leave and refused, stating he was a member and he would do as he pleased. He was finally escorted out by the police and his membership was revoked and was banned from the club. Didn’t think the guy was that way as we had played golf together and didn’t come on as being a jerk but he did and I guess it was good riddance to get him out of there. That has been my only bad experience from them but it sure made me feel different towards that fan base.
Watching Dave Doren being a total idiot has made it even worse in not liking them. When he was at Northern Illinois he didn’t seem to be such a jerk but I think the fans helped make him that way.

We had a similar situation on an Alaskan Cruise a few years ago. This guy saw my Clemson Cap and asked if I was a Tiger and I said yes. He proudly announced that he was the President of the N.C. State Wolfpack Boosters organization and proceeded to rattle off a laundry list of reasons why Clemson was cheating their way to victory over his team every year and how he was sick of it. He went on and on about how Clemson was coming into North Carolina and getting all the prize recruits and UNC and NCST were getting none. He said something stupid about how they could not be expected to compete with with 2-star players while the 4-stars were all lining up to go to Clemson. He was so obnoxious, I finally just told him that maybe NCST needed to fix their own program from the inside rather than criticizing the teams who were beating them and they probably should start by replacing the entire Wolfpack Boosters hierarchy since they were not getting the results they needed. He shut up, sat down, and thankfully, avoided us for the remainder of the cruise. What a ####### that guy was!
