Two Questions......

The running game was working in the first 20 minutes or so. Why was it abandoned? Did the Panthers make some major adjustment so we could not run it anymore?

Also, Davis Allen had been such an important player against Syracuse. Yesterday....invisible. Why? Was the Pitt defense across the middle so impregnable that we couldn't complete any passes there? Maybe I'm just ignorant of how football is played these days, so any answers are welcome.

that is epic Elliott. He has to keep the wr's and qb happy or something. Instead of doing what is working he tries something new or off the wall. And late when TP was in the run got stuffed but wouldnt hardly let him throw the ball

Plus no one is mentioning Collins quit of TP7 on the pass that would have been a first down in TP7 second and last series played

One big part of run game was Brockhorst's injury. He was where we were running. I don't know about tight end over the middle but I think DJ tends to decide where he is going to throw the ball and to who before it is ever snapped.

So often it appears to me that the offensive coordinator conducts a game as if it were practice: run a play until it works, then move on to another play. Oy vey!

As an example, you pointed out that we seemed to abandon the run after it was working! Conversely, I point out that the WR screen to the sidelines was our opening play. It was stopped for no gain. We preceded to run it 3 or 4 more times during the game, and the longest gain was 3 yards. It's frustrating to watch.

Sounds like Rob Spence play calling. No one has mentioned that I've seen the 4 drops of very catchable balls in 1st half that likely consumed most confidence that DJ entered the game with. DJU is not producing nor or the receiving group.
