EUGENE, Ore. - The Clemson track and field program collected three first-team All-America honors during the final day of men’s competition at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, June 11. Clemson’s men finished in a tie for 20th overall after scoring 14 points, making it the Tigers' best team finish since the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Roje Stona earned first-team All-American honors in the men’s discus after finishing as the national runner-up by throwing 61.94 meters (203 feet, 2 inches), a lifetime best for the sophomore, during the second round. Friday evening saw Stona complete a series of 55.55m-61.94m-X-57.89m-60.35m-61.20m. Stona’s final result allowed him to become the first Tiger to collect first-team honors in the event since Jack Harkness finished second overall at the 1982 championships. In men’s program history, this is Clemson’s fourth first-team honor in the discus.

The Tigers’ 4x100m relay put together one of its best efforts of the season, as the team finished fifth overall in a time of 38.96 seconds during Friday’s final. Giano Roberts, Marcus Parker, Alex Sands and Terryon Conwell all earned first-team All-American honors with the result, while the honors also served as the first first-team accolades of Roberts, Sands, and Parker’s careers. Clemson’s relay result gave the program its 12th first-team honor in the event, along with it being the first since the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Roberts added to his trophy case shortly after the 4x100m relay by finishing seventh during the final of the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 13.65. Roberts, a 2021 indoor second-team All-American in the 60m hurdles, fired out of the blocks and glided over the hurdles while racing under the lights of Hayward Field. Roberts is the first Tiger since Justin Johnson in 2015 to garner first-team All-American honors in the event, while also becoming the third Tiger in program history to collect All-American honors for the 60m hurdles and 110m hurdles in the same year.

Clemson’s men collected four All-America accolades while competing in Eugene, as Kameron Jones secured a second-team honor following the semifinal round of the 800m on Wednesday, June 9.

LSU’s men won the overall team championship after earning 84 points across the two days of competition.

Clemson's team finish on Friday made them the second-ranked ACC men’s squad following the conclusion of the men's slate of competition in Eugene.

Clemson’s women will close out the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday evening as Harleigh White (Triple Jump), Veronica Fraley (Discus), and Laurie Barton (800m) all contest their individual event's final.
