I said way back neither Clemson nor FSU will end up in the SEC or Big Ten. Now it looks like the schools will settle their lawsuit with the ACC and remain in this boring conference. Could it be there were no landing spots for either school other than maybe the Big Twelve or the new PAC?

No conference was going to show their hand until Clemson showed a negotiated exit strategy and timing. We were going to be tied up in court for years and most likely the next big reorganization will be our best chance to leave. Only option left was to negotiate a better share and wait it out.

We still won’t be in the ACC until 2036. I am 100% certain of that. Im actually still very confident we won’t be in the ACC in 5 years

Exactly! The payout formula ought to be based on conference championships, National Championships, bowl wins, etc. but instead we got a socialism lesson where Wake Forest earns the same as us.

It's only a proposal. Clemson nor FSU has agreed to it and more importantly the rest of the conference hasn't agreed to take less money and told "you are not important enough". So don't go banging on your drum just yet.

It isn't about being "important enough." It is about who contributes the most revenue based on results, and whether or not there should be a proportional share of the revenue, rather than even splits. We spend a lot of money on resources to be as competitive as we are, while a program like WF can spend far less and still get the same share. From a profitability standpoint of the revenue split, they are coming out better than we are because they contribute less to the overall pie, yet reap the same reward.

Also, being in SEC or BiG never seemed right and if one over the other the SEC is more aligned to our fan culture, type of football, food, southern locations & warmer venues in the Southeast.

Boring? You don't get it. It's about money that's it. If the ACC gets the automatic bid and we can get compensation that is close (within 10 million annually) then the ACC is the better spot. Then its about the playoffs. Watch the other conferences beat the #### out if each other and sit back and pick the bones. Some additional cash and a little bigger NIL collective and let's go!!

It’s way too early to call that. I don’t see a world where the ACC doesn’t push back on a shortened GOR. I also don’t see other schools agree to take money out of their pockets but we will see. This thing is far from being settled. I still believe they end up in court.

The ACC is, and always has been, a great conference or it would have broken up years ago. A major conference is about so much more than football and in all other sports the ACC is a top conference.

The fact we are negotiating for more money does not mean we aren't also looking for an exit strategy. We can do both...and we are.

While a negotiated settlement MAY be reached at some point, at this stage, it is more likely that will not happen. In the meantime, step away from the ledge and just enjoy the show.

If there were no landing spots for them, the ACC would not be willing to negotiate the payouts.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? #### NO! Nothing has been settled yet. And I personally believe unless the years on the GOR are reduced significantly there will be no deal. Plus 2/3's of the conference member presidents will have to agree to receiving less money.
I still believe Clemson, FSU, Miami and maybe UNC end up in the B1G.

…with more $$$ and a **shortened GOR** would be a win for CU and FSU. This is a long game - your take is odd, and crowing about having made some sort of miraculous prognostication is even odder. No one knows where CU ends up when all is said and done. Not to mention, there’s no agreement yet.

I believe the ACC is the best option if the money is close. I know Clemson is not afraid of competition but the best path to the playoffs is the ACC. Just my two cents worth.

My first choice is the ACC gets Clemson the cash more like the SEC and BIG10 and then stay in the ACC. Second choice is to head to the BIG12 for money equal to the SEC and BIG10 with new TV deal. Plus that way when I move to Arizona in about 5 years I can catch my Clemson games out there easily.
