Paul Finebaum says ACC's place in realignment affects Clemson brand

ESPN and SEC Network host Paul Finebaum is riding high as the conference he's built his brand on is set to strengthen with an expected addition of Texas and Oklahoma. Of course, Finebaum hasn't shied away from an opportunity to poke at Clemson over the years, and the Dan Patrick Show teed one up for Read Update »

It would be interesting to see what FINkbottom would say- if Clemson did move to the SEC and dominated their division then whipped bama in the SEC title game- How would they say that three teams then needed to be in the Championship game.

He is right regarding ND. Swoffie gave them everything they wanted (5 football games a year for their schedule and home for other sports) without full membership. Dumbest move ever.

Those 5 games a year help the ACC more than ND.***

Don't get me wrong, I never liked Swoffie, but if he hadn't they would be prime for the Big 10 membership about now.

Just can't keep his mind off Clemson can he?....***

This putz is such a SEC knobslobberer. Predictable and lazy. I can’t remember the last time he has had an interesting angle on any story.

Not sure who was closer to tears. Finebaum watching Clemson hand Bama their a$$es in the National Championship game or the NBC election coverage team watching Trump defeat Billary in the presidential election.

every time he says something negative its posted on here and other Clemson fan sites bc our fanbase runs right to it and clicks on the stories, posts comments, etc. You can find the same on any social platform as well. When he discusses Clemson negatively on this show, it really drives up the number of Clemson fans calling in and gives him plenty of fodder to fill his 4 hour time slot. Its also a way to engage another fanbase outside of his core footprint.

Clemson hates the SEC and the SEC hates Clemson...Finebaum plays both sides perfectly.

It is hard to argue with what Finebaum says. This is a huge year for us, for our future and for the future of the ACC which makes the game against Georgia so big. If the ACC is not competitive nationally, it will be very hard to make the Playoffs with a loss. Go Tigers, beat Georgia and the next 12 teams we play. You can't win then all until you win the first.

Sports journalism. ESPN in general has become a group of biased fanboys but this guy is just bad for the sport.

The SEC realignment effects everyone, not just the ACC, but if anybody cares about the sport they want competition to remain fair.

Ive been told by Paul and ESPN that Clemson was supposed to lose just about every CFP game we've been involved in from the inception of the CFP...because we play in a conference not named the SEC/B1G/BIG12.. i mean we've constantly been told this every year just about. And i would say Clemson has competed quite nicely..if not the best since routinely being invited to the CFP. Some would say..no Alabama has played the best... unfortunately for Paul in that matchup Clemson owns the record in National Championship games... This guy needs new material.
