We never have any luck with our top baseball commits. Not even NIL will them away from LA

It's just the nature of college baseball. We don't lose or sign any more than the next teams. Tristan Smith, Will Taylor, and Mack Anglin all played in college and were ranked in the top 50 nationally of their respective years. We lose a guy or two every year, but it could be worse. LSU loses like a half dozen signees every draft.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

I would be surprised if he picked Clemson over all that.

All that, doesn't seem like a whole lot to me, especially when he has an option of playing college ball and see what he can get in the next draft.

It comes down to the bonus pool...

He'll either sign with them at significantly over slot (using extra bonus pool money) or his slot will be used to add to the bonus pool for others. My guess is it will take about 1.5-2x that to get him to sign, but that's just a guess. Hope he stays... I think we have a much better shot at keeping him with 3rd round slot money than we would have had at 1st or 2nd. A lot of time 3rd round is where teams pick players that they don't expect to sign to have more money for pool for 1st and 2nd round.

This is an easy one to solve just get the kid the money they are offering over next 3 years with a larger portion of it upfront, along with a full ride and he comes out ahead and gets a college degree.

Too many hot girls at Clemson to take the money and run if he asked me. There’s none on the bus rides to minor league towns. Minor league baseball is a grind and if he fails, as most do, he has used all his money already. I’d go to college and have some good times.
My neighbor was in the minors and he’s an incredible athlete. He never misses a 3 pointer playing pick up basketball and church softball leagues fear him. 5% make it to the show. Go to college, young man. Money is great, but you’ll always regret skipping college.
