about this commitment. I just don't see how you can project a baseball player into college or beyond at the age of 13. Pretty soon, scouts will be catching babies as they come out of the womb, and saying "Heeeey, this one looks like it's got POTENTIAL!"

Crazy and pointless to offer this early.

Pitchers with size and velocity sometimes get offered as sophomores but offering a freshman position player in the fall makes no sense.

Counterpoint:

If you see a freshman crushing balls off of older players who are good enough that you would consider offering them as pitchers, why would you not want to be the first to give him some attention as a hitter?

He also runs very well for a kid his age and size, so there is another tool to add to the list.
