Elliott wants his tight ends to learn to love blocking

Tony Elliott believes the Clemson tight ends have a chance to be special as receivers. But he also believes they need to learn to fall in love with blocking in the running game if they want to be complete players. Full Story »

Should we be advertising this

While in the midst of recruiting a couple of 5 stars ?

Timing seems bad on this one

Those TE recruits know.

The easy and best solution

is to play Davis Allen just about every down. He blocks, he catches, he works hard. If the other TE's do not know how to block or care to block after 2-3 years in the program, they are expendable bench warming practice players.

And hopefully DJ will open up the middle by throwing to Davis Allen. That's on Tony Elliott and the play callers. The TE is a weapon that has not been used at Clemson since DW4 and Leggett.

I'm with you on that. Davis Allen is a surprisingly good player and I am a fan.

Lay should be a great blocker at 270.

There isn't a doubt that Tony will have our TEs playing like TEs that we've never seen at Clemson before, and that is bc Tony is an excellent coach that believes that his player has to learn all the little things before they can become an elite player at their position, and the ones that we see on the field game day, they have shown Tony that they have taken on his coaching style, and they know how to do all the little things that he has asked them to do before they can become a complete TE.
