So Judge Keller® what's next that we need to consistently be elite? We got the assistants some well-deserved raises too, which I think is great...it takes more than just one person to lead successful teams for sure. Are facilities up to snuff, or is there room to improve there?
Not trolling. Just wanting to know what's left on the "need to have list" because I think this signals Neff and Clemson are sincere about the BBall program maintaining success...and with the dollars comes the expectations. This would be a good time for Brad to get while the getting is good to make that next step.

We need continued facility upgrades. The basketball operations building will be a great step toward that. We are approaching a decade since our previous renovations were planned and construction was started. I hope that we are already planning ways to enhance those facilities, even if they are just small changes to give it a refresh.
Brad has talked a lot about recruits who visit campus are pleasantly surprised by the basketball facilities. "Better than I expected" is a common response. While it's great that they are pleased, it's concerning that they don't expect much. As I've mentioned many times before, we have to work to change the perception that Clemson is a football school that doesn't care about basketball. Part of that is having continued success on the court, but part of it is also our administration and fan base being intentional about promoting basketball, having a true home court advantage, etc.
Keeping our talented assistants is vital. Brad has lost many over the years who got raises from programs that are not at our level. I was very pleased to see that our assistants got raises. Hopefully they want to be here and we can keep them here a long time.
Finally, budget still matters. We don't spend nearly as much as many other programs on basketball. We need to continue funding it better, as that impacts recruiting, game prep, etc.

Word-thank you very much for the insight, JK. I would hope with all the growth on campus, improving on LittleJohn and the Bball ops center would be natural (i've never seen the latter). To me this article shows a LOT of general success for our sports program in general, so hoping there is some mutual spillover too.
I feel like we made a pretty big statement yesterday. We keep striking while the iron is hot and hopefully the overall perception of our programming will change. Safe to say I think we are blossoming as a "Sports School" while also holding high academic standards, not an easy task.

Brownell should receive a bonus of 100K if he wins the ACC title. On another note, did the women's soccer coach receive a raise along with the extension? She certainly deserves one.

I think that is a great goal (assuming we are still in the ACC over his tenure).
It's a notoriously tough league, and also a notoriously elusive win for Clemson. How groce is it that South Carolina has more ACC titles than Clemson?
I'm sure I'll get called a coot for that, but to me I think winning the league is a general health indicator of the program. As Goober always said "To be The Man you got to Beat the Man".
Win in the ACC and you're in good shape for the Dance.

This proves, you dont have to be good to get a raise. Mediocrity is rewarded!

This is unbelievable to me. An extension and a raise. I'm telling you, he saw somebody with a cheerleader and it is information they must pay to keep quiet.

I'm referring to BB, not Bakich. Bakich earned and deserved his raise.

Pretty fair overall. Surprised to see the buyout pretty much double over these next two years but even if we fall off some next season it's not like Brownell is getting canned then. Happy for the two extra seasons tacked on from a recruiting standpoint. Hopeful he will keep his foot on the gas - hasn't normally gone that route after his prior deals.
Go Tigers!

Awesome for our coaches and the new contracts reinforce the fact that money is not an issue.

Think I heard correctly just a little bit ago, Walt saying Clemson was getting a bargain and BB is the best coach in the ACC. Pretty insulting to the ones that have won ACC championships and Bennett that has one a Natty.

Meltdown initiated. Just a handful of clueless members remaining on the rolls. And they are really going to get mad when this year's team is better than last's year team.
