Brent Venables is having "a lot of fun" watching his defense grow up

Brent Venables was the last one to walk outside the visitor’s locker room at Syracuse for postgame interviews, and he walked out with another big smile on his face. Why? He’s having a lot of fun with the kids. Photo by Rich Barnes / USATODAY Full Story »

Very impressive Defense performance last night. Offense needs some work and TL will get in a grove with his passing and hopefully eliminate the pics trying to force his passing. GO TIGERS!!!

Not many people will be questioning why Clemson is ranked No.1 because of this defense. I will call it out as smoke and mirrors. I'm not sure how Brent Venables is doing it. Are there athletes to work with...sure? But, how many players on the defensive side are locks for the NFL? This is not last year. The defense lacks depth and is relatively undersized in terms of weight not height..

We've had twice now that the marquee athletes on offense made a touchdown-saving tackle and then the defense got the team out of that hole with no points allowed. This is the storyline of the season.

I’m having fun watching this defense too. I look forward to see the tackles and tfls pile up by the safeties and lbs
