Ticket prices

I’m sure I’m going to step on some toes with this post, but I don’t understand why some people try to resell their tickets for $300 each. Yes, I understand how capitalism works and I’m all for people making money. However, the vast majority of people don’t want to pay some absurd amount for a game, especially a noon game. On top of all this, schools are wanting to add “NIL fees” now to help furthermore with funding. College football will soon become a rich man’s sport. I guess inflation affects all aspects of life.
I also don’t understand why people buy season tickets with the sole purpose of flipping them each game to try and score a profit. Tickets should be for people who actually want to attend the game to pull for the school, not those looking to make a quick back ripping someone off.
Rant over.

People will sell their tickets for whatever the market allows. Remember, “there’s a sucker born every day”. As long as someone will pay $300, that will be the price. That being said, if you watch the ticket page on TNet close enough you will usually find someone who just wants to recoup what they have in the ticket. But that is not going to be face value, it will usually be Dave value plus seat equity, which is fair, IMO. Very few people give up tickets once they have them because they are harder to get them back if you give them up than they are to keep and sell.

i'm a pitiful champion donor.
if i set a ticket price based off the amount of money i have spent on Clemson athletics it would be in the $1000 of dollars range.

the amount printed on the face of the ticket is NOT the true or full cost of that ticket. You have to account for the seat equity costs that the original holder had to pay. Even for someone just trying to recover their out-of-pocket cost only, that is a reasonable amount that is factored into the overall ticket price and, in many cases, the reason for the increased above "face value'.

" I don’t understand why some people try to resell their tickets for $300"
but then you post this
"I understand how capitalism works and I’m all for people making money."
if you just want to complain.. you should also post about parking passes.

They can go hand in hand. I’m just voicing my frustrations with the system but I can understand it. I just wish games and the overall experience was a little more affordable.

its still family affordable right now.
even basketball tickets will put a hurting on a family of 5.
i stopped bringing my family to the games a long, long time ago. I only have 2 tickets to split between the 5 of us. 2 go in.. 3 stay at the tailgate.

It does not matter any more how long you have been in a spot or if you have family and friends in adjacent spots. It all comes down to the $$$ thrown at IPTAY. I am not so worried about ticket prices because the market will sort that out. Parking spots is a sore subject because you have no idea from one year to the next if you will stay in your spot or be bumped. Seems like there is a better way to do this and not pi$$ off half the IPTAY donors every football season. Meh.

Imagine if people bought and sold anything for the correct price. Housing Market. Bourbon. Cars. Pets. etc.
Money is king and if there is a market for it, it will continue to happen....and probably get worse.
That being said I am with you on those buying tickets for the sole purpose of flipping a profit. As a season ticket holder I attend every game I can. But if I am unable to make it to a game a see nothing wrong with posting my tickets for what the market is worth.

Please tell me who is buying tickets and flipping them for a profit. I use (mostly), give away, and occasionally sell tickets. Although I may have made money one one particular game I sure have lost a bunch over the years on others ...... including bowl and playoff tickets that I had to sell when I couldn't go to the game.
PS: I'm not talking about professional scalpers.

I had a long nicely worded response to your frustrating situation. Then I looked at my work and realized that it was a word salad.. So I reduced it to align with other more typical responses that you will likely get on Tigernet. Bottom line stop being poor.. I mean that is the answer for everything. Just Stop being Poor.
But if you are looking for tickets that are less than $300 a ticket, lookup my adds. I am reasonable. Make me an offer. 😊
