Yeah this modern narrative of fragile china pitchers is ridiculous. Their arms can handle more than 50 pitches in a dang weekend. The larger point is, maybe figure out the reliever rotation against a team that didn’t just win the natty?

It’s the first week of the season. Hopefully nobody goes past 50-60.
And it’s not babying pitchers. It’s building them up so they are still strong April, May and June.
2-1 opening week d against quality teams unlike most other schools opening up against subpar competition.

Agreed it’s a very good weekend but the trend of pitching guys on whatever we know to be a low pitch count end is not necessary physiologically

Hard fact! We couldn’t get past the SEC at home in supers last year and picked up right where we left off . Don’t know how w didn’t go get more power arms from portal to fix the pitching woes from last year ?
