They probably do have the bigger brand because of basketball. However football is driving this entire realignment and our football team and program is light years ahead of theirs.

Their basketball brand is huge for sure. However, football is the cash cow of the college athletics landscape and Clemson is top tier in that regard. This person may not be wrong but I prefer where Clemson's brand stands.

Everything they hang their hat on is Jordan, but MJ is his own brand. Labeling the brand is always going to be broken down by sport, and its no comparison in the one that ultimately matters.

They’ll bolt from the ACC like a scalded dog. The next domino and what the Big 10 is waiting for is ND. Oregon and Washington will follow. At this point, at least 4 from the ACC will go to the SEC. I hope we don’t miss this bus, it’ll be purgatory for those that remain.

It really depends on what your criteria are.
One of the more popular metrics that people use for rating a school’s brand is sales of licensed merchandise. UNC is 7th. We are 25th.
Another would be national championships won. UNC has 56 team national championships. We have 7.
Alumni base? They have over 350,000 living alumni. We have about 155,000.
I guarantee more people know UNC is in Chapel Hill than know Clemson is in a town called Clemson, or even that we are in SC.
If your criteria is football, mens soccer and mens golf championships, we have them beat there.
UNC undoubtedly has the bigger overall “brand”, without question. However, that probably won’t help them with this football driven expansion.
