This is why soccer is ghey

Ok....so I will admit that I enjoy the world cup because I think it's fun to get into and follow every 4 years, but the US/Mexico game is a prime example of why soccer sucks
E$ecPN gets to hype a big, major event for an otherwise boring ol Tuesday night and act like its a big deal.
Fans spend money to travel and spend money on tickets and spend money eating and drinking at the tailgate and at the game.....
....all for a 0-0 tie! Not a single goal for either side! And then they play 5 minutes of overtime where obviously nobody is going to score anyways. Then after that, the players run around and celebrate and get all excited as if they actually won something.
Soccer is the only sport where you can do nothing and still be a "winner." This is also known as little league.
And, as expected, E$ecPN continues to blow this game up today.
So let me reiterate.....soccer is ghey

And yes, I know the US is usually sub-par at best. I DO follow soccer somewhat, club and international. I just don't like the idea of going an entire sporting competition without scoring a single goal

ESPN had NOTHING to do with the hype of that game.

They showed it and talked about it for sure, but no one was at that stadium due to anything that ESPN did or didn't do.
I get it, you don't like soccer. More power to ya and to each their own. But this game was an important game and in pool play the road point is huge.

There were plenty of exciting moments in that game even with zero goals score.
Watching our VERY young defense battle against some of the best forwards in the world was impressive.
Fact is we just got our 2cd point EVER in WCQers on Mexican soil. That is a big deal.

I made a joking negative soccer post and got psychoanalyzed last night with disparaging remarks about my character.
nice to know we live in a free country where I can hate soccer and other things as much as I want. if that bothers someone its their problem not mine

I think the important think is Mexico DIDN'T score. Now if we could get about 22 wins in a row against them, we'll be evened up. Sort of like the coot record against us, but not as severe.

3 points for a win 1 for a draw 0 for a loss. It's not like two teams can split the World Cup title. I know if another sport where teams can tie for a title though.

Who travel that far and spend money to go understand how soccer is played. US fans should be thrilled with a draw considering the inexperience we have in the back and playing at a place like Azteca against a very talented Mexico squad.
If you dont understand the following terms then of course i wouldnt expect you to like soccer:
Counter attack Transition/getting numbers up 3rd man running Combination play
Facets of the game that make it enjoyable.those who think it is boring clearly dont understand the game. Find a sport where you can drive a ball across the field 80 yards on a dime and have another player settle it with their foot or hit it cleanly out of the air.

to go on and on and on and.....on, with no scoring, or if football, until well into the modern era, allowed games to end in ties. Or if boxing matches ended in no-decisions. Why, that would certainly be ghey.
