No doubt. They are getting what they can get done now.

I'm sure there's a lot of truth to that.

Though I don't think it's particularly unusual. I certainly hope that the 2022 election brings in a bevy of conservatives to the legislative bodies.

Normal ones though and not the Q ones.

Not sure there are true conservatives left to run

let alone actually be able to win with where the Republican base is these days. Think more
Marjorie Taylor Greenes and less Mitt Romneys (who is considered a RINO now).

I hope so, but a lot can happen between now and then. I agree that most stuff that looks like it will happen should force it more in the R direction, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Totally depends.

If they get the For the People act through, and ban gerrymandering, it's going to cost the GOP at least 20 and probably closer to 40 seats in the House.

The fact that the GOP even has a chance at the House right now is highly artificial, and due entirely to gerrymandering, at least if the GOP wants to continue wage a pure demo war.

I think Joe (and that other Joe, Manchin) wait until the very last second, but I do think they push it through, and it pretty much yanks the rug right under the GOP for '22. Biden knows what's at stake.

Froth at the mouth all you wanna - and I know many will - but I strongly suspect it's going to happen. Biden's going to slow-play it, though.

And sorry, gerrymandering's a house of cards that was always going to fall at some point. Complete BS. Politicians do not get to choose their voters. That is the complete opposite of actual democracy. You wanna know why we have so many of these idiot extremist reps at either edge of the ideological spectrum in super-safe seats, gerrymandering is a huge reason why.

Lutz.

Metro Atlanta is full of jerrymandering. And it benefits both parties.

Sorry, that is just not accurate. There are some gerrymandered Dems states, Maryland, for instance, but on the whole it benefits the GOP far more. REDMAP stole at least 40+ seats for the GOP in 2010 alone. It was some of the dirtiest political pool we've ever seen in this country.
