This is a post no husband ever wants to have to write.

Feb 24, 2021, 2:26 PM

I posted last Wednesday that we went in for a biopsy on my wife's left breast, because yearly mammogram had shown an abnormal result. We got the results this morning, and, it is breast cancer. She is handling it about as well as could be expected, this is news NO woman or her spouse ever wants to receive.

Next step is surgery, along with biopsy of lymph nodes on that side, which will tell us how far advanced the cancer is. Our fervent prayer is that since she has been getting yearly mammograms, it is still localized to that tumor. The lymph nodes would be "next in line" to be infected, per what the docs explained.

A course of radiation treatments will follow a few weeks after surgery regardless. If the nodes are clean, that would be all that is required. If not, then we will have to discuss those options if we get there. Please keep my wife in your prayers that this thing is confined, and tests will show no advance to the lymph nodes. The Lord already knows, I would take this from her and put it on myself if I could, but that is not how it works. This is where we are, and we have to go forward from this point.
