The next four games are a brutal slate.

Laugh if you want to but NC State has been a tough out lately, we have no idea what the heck Stanford will be like, and then at FSU where the only thing they have to play for is ruining Clemson's season, then at Wake Forrest who looks to be one of the top ACC teams and is very well coached and has some very experienced leaders on the team.
It'll be a tough task to come through the next four 4-0 or 3-1.

I'm snickering. We should run these teams off the field.
I hate to say it, but if you want to see a brutal 4 game stretch, look at our feathered friends' next 4 games.

I would classify those games as follows: NC State and Stanford at Death Valley - Minor Competition FSU - Mid Comp...They have DJ....Comon Man. Wake - App State plus a bit more talent

Well let's see....last year we lost at NC State. Barely beat Wake by less than a touchdown, and lost against FSU.
Wake looks better, NC State has some players, and FSU at Doak Campbell is tough no matter who they got.
The days of wiping the mat with every ACC opponent we face are gone. Conference games are tough wins now. And Stanford ain't no slouch of a program.

Last year is not a good proxy. Go watch the games these teams have played THIS YEAR. Now can Clemson drop and egg like 2nd Half of UGHAY game, yes. But, these are not Brutal games. Texas, UGHAY, Miami and O310 State would be in Brutal box.

Have to disagree. You seem to be looking at these matchups with more of a “they’ve been/done this in past seasons,” but that has no bearing on the upcoming games.
NC State does not have the offensive line to accomplish much against us, and their defense can be gashed on the ground. Grayson McCall is also not a 3rd-and-long QB
Stanford does not have a QB or offensive line. Their defense can be shredded through the air
FSU has no offensive identity and should be dominated on both lines of scrimmage. Only thing making this a little scary is it being on the road
Wake is nothing like the teams in the past. They too lack identity and absolutely do not have the talent or depth to beat this team

All I've seen out of NCState so far against WCU and Tenn is weakness. I'll admit we don't know too much about Stanford from just two games, but adding in what they were last year I see not reason for particular concern.
As for FSU, I agree, they may want to play spoiler to Clemson and DJ may want to prove himself against his former team. Furthermore it's away. After this 0-2 start, they still have some time to work out the kinks before playing us. That may not happen, but I could at least understand some worry about it. Their roster was well thought of prior to the season.

Tough slate? No it’s not. Clemson will blow the doors off of those teams. None of them are any good and three of them are arguably pretty bad.

My guess is at least 1 of the 2 teams in the ACC Championship game will have 2 losses so FSU is not out of the running yet but you are right they are life support. As far as saying the only thing they have to play for is ruining our season is just wrong. You can bet they would rather beat Miami and possible ruin their season. We have lost to NC State 2 of the last 3 years so that will be a big test.

They just lost at home to a Virginia team that at least on paper is one of the least talented teams in the conference. Wake and Stanford may actually be the two worst teams in the ACC this year.

We could easily win out and get snubbed just like FSU if the playoff rules didn’t change this year. We need to dominate every game the rest of this season - might get a pass on one letdown game that we still find a way to win. Any losses and we have no case for votes or a high ranking.

Hahahaha take the orange covered glasses off and get real.
Stanford will most likely be the worst team in the ACC. The pack just got beat down by a team that will finish in the SEC in the 4-6 range on the road. We get that team at home. Florida St? I’ve watched both games. Yes, I assume we’ll get their best punch but from your brutal comments you clearly have watched them and are going only by their name.
And Wake…. They lost to Virginia. The team that will give Stanford a run for their money on being the worst team in the ACC.
So no. Nothing about our remaining schedule is “brutal”.
Hey, every game is tough to win but let’s not act like we’re going up against giants here. The Georgia game was a brutal game and it showed our glaring flaws and weaknesses. I’m just thankful we’re not in the SEC where we would face a truly brutal schedule.
Go Tigers!

Brutal? Hardly. We have 1 (barely) ranked opponent left on our schedule, and there’s no guarantee that they’ll be ranked when we play them. We’re gonna have to beat everyone soundly and have some help to sniff the playoffs. We blew our best chance in Atlanta

Here's why they will look like tough outs for us.
Sep 11, 2024, 6:07 AM
|
|
Dabo will return to his roots and liberally substitute to give the youth experience and make them tough. He will not always call plays which the starters and backups have mastered but will sprinkle in some of the things they struggle with in practice.
It took me a while but I've concluded that Dabo manufactures adversity for his players and drama for his fans. We shouldn't expect a lot of folks leaving before late in the 4th quarter and at times it will come down the last drive for offense or one more stop in the redzone for our defense.
If you think back over the years how consider how many times we faced the scenario. I'm going on history here and though there is a bit of imagination and guess work if you will consider my opinion during this season you will see it happening.
There's also the results of all those years of manufactured adversity. We went to the playoff 6 times, played in 4 NC games and won two of those. Think about how many times we were underdogs. That's due to close games with teams ranked from the middle of the top 25 to unranked.
We torched 4 teams in the first round, squeaked by Bama once with, guess what, a final drive and score as the clock got below 5 seconds. The other time, ESPN had everyone in the nation picking 'Bama's best team ever.'
We are about to break about 800.000 fans' hearts. I'm not speculating on the post season at this time.

I've said it before, any time can get beat on any given day. I believe that we play with a target on our backs and that teams typically bring their 'A' game when they play us. You have to prepare and stay focused on the game and team you play that week. When you look ahead or think, we've got this, you stand a chance of losing. Dabo has always preached, this weeks game is the most important game of the season and you better believe it is. GO TIGERS!
