It should widen our path to a successful climax to next year’s performance.

I would have preferred someone who could compete with DJ for Cade backup. Should Cade win starting job in spring and DJ decides to bail are we really comfortable with HJ as backup?

I believe that HJ would have better stats than our starter this past season of 56% completion with 9 TDs and 10 INTs. Our OL and WRs next year should be better than anything Northwestern has had the last few years.

Well, Johnson has the ability to strike balls deep or pound it behind tight ends.

Johnson's measurables were impressive out of high school

but he never seemed to be ready for big time action and eventually petered out before leaving. Often times the quality of Wide Receivers and Tight ends can effect performance. Also you can't underestimate the protection that an effective guard can provide. Here's to hoping Johnson straps it on and provides quality depth the second time around.

This response took extra effort, much like the extra effort Johnson will need to show if he hopes to please Tiger fans more upon his second entrance than he did during his first.
I don't blame Johnson for leaving early during his first attempt at the big time.
Prior to that Johnson was handed everything and did it all on his own while in high school.
Making the change from being handed everything to being thrusted into a new environment was too much of a load for him and forced him to leave early.
He overcame a lot and now Johnson is being thrusted into a new role yet again in the backend of the QB rotation.
I hope he handles the load better this time around.
