The ACC should develop a formula for splitting

Revenue on more of an earned basis than equal basis. It’s not right for a few to carry the water for the conference and split evenly with everyone else. This would keep the top schools from wanting to go to another conference to improve revenue

We should of argued that between ‘92-‘10 (NOT)

That is good to say when you are on top. The 2 sports that produces TV revenue are FB and basketball. Since we don’t have a BB team that produces any revenue when you we are on top in fb we would make out when we are not you won’t. Think FSU is saying that now? We were not saying that between’92-‘10.

It's what is right, regardless of where we fall in producing the revenues. It doesn't mean that the conference should go completely to the other end of the spectrum and base the payouts solely on the revenue brought in.
Schools that bring in more revenue are also spending more money on their athletic programs on a general basis. We are spending money to make money, but right now a large part of that is for the conference rather than ourselves.

I see your point. It is hard to see all the money Gamecocks get from SEC being a bottom dweller most of time and we get less having been the only football program to carry the ACC. But you are correct. What goes around comes around

Then the first move has to be telling Notre Dame they join as a full conference affiliate ( that means football) or take a hike. (That also means no television contract with NBC). Why should they get all of their football money while playing a 5 game ACC schedule, and then even qualify for the ACCCG like what happened ( I think ) in 2019.

Notre Dame is going to be forced to the table sooner or later. They might have made it into the play-offs this year if they were a member of the ACC. Not having a conference title made them a no go. It will only get worse for them as time goes on.
They would certainly be a boost to the ACC as a whole. Something tells me that when they join with football they make a move to the Big 10 though. Those schools are more in their neighborhood.

That idea works until it is our school that is no longer carrying the water for the conference.
BTW, I think the big solution to NIL money is to split it over the whole team. Players would be less likely to jump schools because if it. Never has made much sense to me that one player being worth $1 million while the rest of the team has a net negative net worth is good for a team sport.

I like the idea in theory, especially if it is only a share of the NIL money that is shared with the other players. I'm not sure that wouldn't cause a bigger disparity in the teams though. The players at positions that don't stand to make a lot of NIL money would be looking to go to teams that have larger NIL contracts for the stars.

there is alot more competition to get a spot on a squad at the lower level (NIL unlikely) spots on at team. I just think it would squash down the whole thing.
Another correction would to be to limit NIL to school sanctioned products, like their jersey and other fan gear. Letting NIKe and other big corps into the tent is only cause for trouble.

Splitting the NIL money wouldn't hold up in the courts.
