Thank you Dr Fauci for the clarification...

Fauci yesterday on CNN said,"the president is being somewhat moderate in his demand, if you want to call it that."

Mandate--require(something) to be done. Yeah, I'd call that a demand.

Later yesterday on CNN, Dr Sanjay Gupta asked Fauci,"I get calls all the time people say 'I've already had COVID, I'm protected.'And now the study says maybe even more protected than the vaccine alone.Should they also get the vaccine? How do you make the case to them?'"Gupta asked.

Fauci to Gupta, "That's a really good point...I don't really have a firm answer for you on that."

So, Biden uses a "work around" to issue a mandate for a one size fits all approach to vaccinations that Fauci can't supply a rationale for. We must follow the science. Ok.

On the other hand, if you're going to know things that aren't true, you might as well not know things that are.

in saving lives and keeping people out of the hospital. For me, that much is not debatable. However, I don't like the idea of mandates, and I totally agree that natural immunity acqired through prior infection must be considered.

Agree. I have no problem with mandates we put on each other,

like employer requirements, etc. And requiring a vax in order to do something like enroll in school is not actually a mandate, so I'm okay with that. If it crosses the line into plain mandate, yes, something is wrong with that, imo

Fauci doesn’t have an answer about natural immunity ?? A high school biology student understands natural immunity. I’ll translate for Fauci, “I don’t want to answer that question because the whole country will know we’ve lied about the role of natural immunity”. What a fraud!!

You do realize that natural immunity diminishes over time

Much better chance than the vaccine though. By the way football coach I highly doubt you’re qualified to discuss health care with me.

for unrelated issues. However, I told his nurse and him that I had had COVID-19. BOTH confirmed what I had suspected and researched all along ... those who have survived COVID-19 have the BEST immunity to the disease. The body's immune system attacks the entire virus not just the protein spikes that the vaccine attacks. I was also told that IF I were, by some strange occurrence, get it again, he would be willing to prescribe ivermectin.

1) I would enjoy seeing the actual CNN interview with Dr Fauci rather than your Oscar worthy rendition mostly because y'all don't watch fake news right? Or did i miss something?

2) People still have a choice not to get the vaccine. If you feel that strongly about your freedoms, go start a business and contribute to the community. Use it as a strategy. You don't have to work for a big company and live by their rules.

Fauci went on to identify that natural immunity does have merit, however, we don't know how well or how long natural immunity is upheld.

He used the word durability.

So yes, natural immunity after having COVID does help. However, we don't know at what point does natural immunity diminish in protection to below the protection of the vax.

We also don't know how long vaccine-induced immunity lasts

yet there are already recommendations for a booster.

If we are going to follow the science, we aren't going to recommend vaccination for those who have recovered nor are we going to recommend a booster for people who are already fully vaccinated.

I think there is plenty of data coming in showing the vaccine efficacy wanes over time.

The booster has not yet been approved/recommended for everyone yet as this data is being studied and reviewed.

We don't have enough data in yet as to how....

long one has effective anti-bodies after being infected and does it change with variants, etc..

There certainly are studies that show that immunity resulting from infection doesn't last as long as immunity from vaccine, nor at the same effectiveness.

This is an example of a limited data set:

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7032e1.htm?s_cid=mm7032e1_w

"Among Kentucky residents infected with SARS-CoV-2 in 2020, vaccination status of those reinfected during May–June 2021 was compared with that of residents who were not reinfected. In this case-control study, being unvaccinated was associated with 2.34 times the odds of reinfection compared with being fully vaccinated"

If...if it is proven that vaccination adds additional immunity to natural immunity resulting from infection and/or if the vaccination immunity last longer, then it makes sense to not treat previously infected people the same as vaccinated people, right?

Unfortunately, you can’t just read or quote the synopsis from anything posted by the CDC or FDA these days Look closely at how they define the two groups. Here, as in about every one that exists, they create their own definitions regarding vaccinated/unvaccinated (though never in the press conference or headline) and usually have abrupt/arbitrary time frames w flimsy explantation/justification in the footnotes. Go back and find whatever “guidance” was out for more than half of this time frame (though probably removed now from May) to see how medical providers and the “fully vaccinated” (usually defined as 14 days after second shot (or 35 to 42 days after FIRST shot) were encouraged not to test or be tested unless severe symptoms. I certainly know this to be the case from personal experience. And of course they conveniently end it around June, just before “Delta variant,” while, like here, it is utilized as if timely. (Though at least consistent, since NO injection presently available was created to address delta, only Alpha).

I find much more credibility in the 15 plus studies (along w common sense and experience), including latest out of Israel showing natural immunity vastly superior (and without the potential side effects, none of which CAN be fully known yet w the injections).

When the message is that a “vaccine” must be mandated and increased in use to “protect” the vaccinated FROM the unvaccinated, other than science is being followed and other than health is being pursued (IMO)

That having been said, it at least SHOULD be everyone’s choice.

Best wishes to all!

I’m pro vaccine, but anti mandate. Biden was planning to offer the 3rd vaccine dose to the general public. It is now apparent the FDA will most likely not make that recommendation, but carve out the “booster” to be given at least initially to a much smaller subset.

Biden issued his mandate without taking into consideration those who have previously been infected. Those individuals may well benefit from a single vaccine dose. Where is the proof that they must have 2 doses?

Biden’s message while forceful is incoherent to me. He did say we need to vaccinate the unvaccinated to protect the vaccinated. Psaki has confirmed that the mandate does not apply to the illegals streaming across the southern border. The mandate does not apply to Congress or their staffers.

He continues to prohibit entry to the US from countries that oftentimes have a higher vaccination rate than the US.

The messaging is quite poor in my opinion.

Yes, FBC , with a prior infection, immunity does wane and that is also true with the vaccine. The vaccines offer extraordinary protection against serious disease, but they are not to protect us from the unvaccinated. They are to protect the unvaccinated.

If you think the messaging has been coherent, consistent and effective, I respectfully disagree.
