But last weeks was just bizarrely bad. I read somewhere that they had planned for 9 episodes for season 2, and Apple requested 11 episodes, so they had to find two show ideas quickly from the discard pile. That was one of them.

Definitely darker this season but the writing and acting is fantastic.

These people are all living the English dream so they're having to make minor issues into life impacting events, and they've turned Ted into this tormented Gomer Pyle character. It's like they couldn't leave the tone of the show that worked so well in season 1 alone. Still a good show, but it's just gotten much more TV-writer predictable (last week excepted).

a positive and inspiring person if you're secretly compensating for some sort of childhood trauma. I'm just surprised they didn't write that his dad was ###### him or something and it was just as simple as suicide.

But yeah, it's forced and uninteresting this season for the most part.
