Tailgating TV Question

Sep 13, 2012, 11:36 AM

What is the best type of portable antenna for getting the games in the parking lot while tailgating? Is it hard to locate a satellite for Direct TV? Does it need to be HD? Thanks for any help..

Getting a Standard Definition signal on Direct TV is very simple. Takes 1 minute.

Getting a High Def signal is a little tricky (you have to line up with 3 satellites instead of just 1).

Go the Standard Definition route and you won't have any problem.

If you are going to use a normal satellite dish as I do then I would definitely recommend one of these: http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=SKY24019&d=Skywalker-Satellite-Signal-Finder/-Meter-(SKY24019)&utm_campaign=base&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google_base

However, if you have the money to spare then I recommend something like this: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/Winegard-Carryout-GM-1518-Automatic-Portable-Satellite-TV-Antenna/44150/&?&affiliateid=3274&cvsfa=2734&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3434313530&gclid=CI7WiNj2srICFQjc4AodU1EA-w

THANKS for the information. I had seen it posted that HD is the way only way to go but it looked more complicated. I appreciate the help. GO TIGERS!
