This is only my 2nd ever original post. I read, give TU's, and occasionally respond to posts. I am asking all Tiger faithful and visitors to pray for my son Chase ( class of '18). He had testicular cancer 2 years ago. He had a 2nd annual CT scan that found an enlarged lymph node. Biopsy last week confirmed cancer. He will find out about chemo schedule this coming Thursday. I can't convey how scary and heavy it is to hear your son has cancer. We are thankful and praise our Lord it is the same type of cancer he had before and that it should respond well to chemo. My wife and I (both class of '89) as well as our family would greatly appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

Prayers! Lots of great Doctors and treatments available today if you press for aggressive treatment options.
Only thing scarier is when the Dr. tells you that you have cancer then not long after tells you you have 6-9mos. Dr schedules appts with Chaplain and Social Affairs while you are in hospital under treatment.
My only POTD and HOF posts was a story of my cancer battle and survival after 100+ doses of chemo and radiation. Those post have been deleted by Tnet or I would suggest you read them. But my #1 recommendation is to stay positive, be aggressive and if you have doubts about your oncologist, then go get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.
"NO ONE WILL PROTECT YOUR HEALTH LIKE YOURSELF!" ALL DOCTORS ARE NOT EQUAL! I had several before we got aggressive enough to satify me and I went through about 7-8 Drs to get me on an offensive path vs defensive. I would be dead today from melanoma metastasis in lymph nodes, saluva glands, tumors in lungs and adrenal gland.
Stay positive, keep your son positive, be aggressive, question the doctor and don't assume he has your best interests at heart, and document slight changes in daily life even if miniscule. It can be a tell before its obvious. I was very in-tune with my body prior and moreso after diagnosis and I often told Dr's my suspisions prior to testing.

advocate. Doctors now run you through the system like cattle. Next. Next. Next. It's really not their fault, every 10 mins is scheduled and tracked. I've had a couple friends who had to get fairly combative in their cancer treatment. Sure it pizzes them off, who cares. It's your life at stake.

There is so much more that unites us than divides us. I lift Chase up in my heart because I know the pain you, Chase and your family are enduring. We went through something similar and drew great strength from knowing that people who did not even know us were praying and pulling for us. We are bound together by a common humanity. When we thrive, we thrive together. When we stumble or are sick we are down there together. A friend told me the story of a man who happens on a deep hole in the ground and hears the plaintiff pleas of his friend at the bottom of the pit. He immediately jumps down and his friend is perplexed. Why on earth did you jump down here he asks? Now we are both down here. His friend replies, “no, I have been down here before and I know the way out!”

I have just asked that God grant your son and your entire family the strength to weather this storm and come out stronger on the other side.
The news that this cancer has recurred certainly is upsetting and the treatments can be tough, but the very good news is that testicular cancer even in this scenario with positive lymph nodes or even distant spread to other organs is still most likely curable.
Testicular cancer once was one of the most deadly cancers, it is now one of the least deadly cancers.
Again, the chemo can be tough and it’s possible your son may require surgery after the chemotherapy, but the odds are absolutely outstanding that at the end of all this, your son will actually be cured of this cancer, not in remission, but cured!

I’ll be praying for Chase to have strength, courage and a quick recovery in the mighty name of Jesus.

Praying your son and family for calm minds and complete healing. I don't know the details of this cancer but I remember Lance Armstrong having testicular cancer and beating it. Maybe there is something he done that you could look into.
