So, early Clemson FB Players helped cutdown trees for current stadium..

while later Asst HC Frank Howard took up tickets at the gate, cut the grass, trimmed the Georgia-like hedges that use to grow high against the stand walls and in the hot humid Summers he drove over the back roads of SC begging Farmers & citizens for a $10 donation to a new scholarship funding organization called IPTAY so to help the Tigers win more games since they were getting beat by Furman or PC..

and today out FB Student-Athletes make NIL $, have a slide, a chef, massagers & whirl pools..

and the coaches make $500,000 to $12,000,000 each per year!

Now there is a story in itself that even the earlier players and coaches would be astonished to hear about!

Well LBB, one of the greatest coaches in Clemson history, Coach Larry Penley instilled those principles in his golf team. In the early years it was out of necessity, now it's a teachable moment. Them boys still have to maintain their own practice facility.

Jess Neely told Frank Howard. Don’t ever let em’ talk you into building a big stadium. Put 10,000 seats behind the YMCA and that’s all you’ll ever need.
