Shipley passing game

Sep 27, 2022, 8:12 PM

From what I can tell he has been targeted 7 times with 6 receptions. Does this seem on point. I seem to remember this part of his game was to be a difference maker.

Would love to see the wheel route that Spiller was so good with executing.

I still remember the one pass last year down the middle in the Pitt game that wasn’t successful.

I gotta think this is a part of the game plan we just haven’t fully used yet.

Thoughts

I have had that same thought. We will see it soon. Perhaps Saturday!!!
Remember the TD pass he threw last year?

Loved that play, he had so many talents and such a great attitude.

I’m having visions of sheets of rain like the ND game. Odds seeing a wheel route may be slim to none.

ND scored on a wide-open wheel route to put them back in the game - If they can, we can!

Anyway you can get the ball in his hands.

Shovel pass, double pass, Utah pass, etc. getting the ball in Will Shipley's hands more is a great strategy!

I love Ship but he’s a totally different weapon then Spiller in my opinion. Ship to me is grit and determination, he moves it after being hit. The Wake TD is a great example. He has respectable speed but not exceptional. Spillers speed was a rare gift. Never saw CJ get caught from behind like Ship did in first play of Wake game. Jet sweep might not be best use for him. I’d prefer Antonio maybe. Ok bring the hate, just my opinion. It’s taken me awhile to understand what’s special about Ship, he is very special but a much different weapon then Spiller.

I was just talking about this yesterday

With a guy at work how his recruitment was all about how we could use him in the pass game. That he was going to be McCaffery 2.0 and be a threat all over the field with speed. I know they try to hit him with some screens but we haven’t been able to block for those in years so they never get anywhere. Also that is probably DJ’s worse throw to make and seems like a lot of the time it gets dumped in the ground.
