I agree. I still don't see how DW is suspended without pay and a $5M fine without having been found guilty of a crime or even the loser in a civil lawsuit. But let the NFL punish themselves by sitting their stars. That will help.
I guess you could say he didn't lose any civil suits since none actually went all the way through, but he did settle most of them didn't he? One could argue he lost those cases then since he ended up paying out.
Regardless, I'm not saying I agree with the NFL on everything and I believe they should've honored the recommended suspension of 6 games, but why should a criminal conviction be required for them to be able to punish one of their employees?

Nevertheless the owners are wealthy and get to set the rules for their “club”. The rules don’t have to be fair or applied evenhanded. The players Union (NFLPA) is at best marginally effective and inconsistent regarding priorities _ easily swayed by additional money to salary caps.
